Thanks for the pointers on TDP ratings. It's very helpful to see that a new
X201 may (for example) have a core i7 @ 2.66GHz with max TDP of 35W --
whereas my X61s has a core duo @ 1.8 GHz with max TDP of 17W.
Is it correct to think that "performance per watt" isn't going down very
much? ie, the newer laptop is about twice as fast, but also generates about
twice as much heat?
Also, is it correct think that if I run a core i7 at 75% CPU, will it
generate about 75% as much heat?
