Sounds like I won't likely be using the USB 3.0 capabilities of this
drive with these machines (though I might get some speed boost using a
PCMCIA USB 3.0 adapter in the T41p?).

The good thing is that the Seagate USB 3.0 is $5 cheaper than the WD
Elements USB 2.0, so I'm not paying extra for capability I'm not going
to use. :)
