I got the drive, a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 2TB external, and I'm
happy that it has a 2yr warranty (vs. the 1yr I believe the WD
Elements I was considering).

There's Seagate backup software and "Seagate Dashboard (Utilities)"
that it wants to install. Is that a good idea? I don't imagine it
would conflict with the stuff on my T41p or X300, but I was planning
to continue using an old version of Acronis TrueImage Home which has
been working well on both machines.

Any problems with the Dashboard and a ThinkPad? Or experience with the
SG utilities in general?

Thanks!
