Thanks. What does one typically use the touchscreen for on a non-tablet
laptop? ie, dragging windows?

Touchscreens add a sensor layer on top of the LED; some people find that
this softens the image. I've chosen not to get the touchscreen on my
tablets because of this (the digitizing layer is _behind_ the LED), but
the advantages of touchscreen will outweigh this disadvantage for some
users.
Even if your local brick and mortar computer store doesn't sell thinkpads,
it might have a machine with a comparable touchscreen you can look at.

Subject: [Thinkpad] Get the free touch screen?
Hi all,
On Lenovo's T410s configuration page I see two screen choices:
* 14.1 WXGA+ TFT Multi-touch, w/ LED Backlight
* FREE Upgrade to WXGA+ TFT Multi-touch, with LED Backlight ($400
savings) 14.1 WXGA+ TFT, w/ LED Backlight
That description makes it sound like the same screen -- with one adding
touch at no extra cost. It seems possible that touch could be nice at
times, but it doesn't strike me as a necessity, and could be useless --
however, it is a free option.
Do folks here have an opinion on this particular choice?
