Hi all,
Got a 2007-83U T60p that started to report a Fan Error as part of the BIOS boot cycle. I've popped off the keyboard and wrist rest and see that the fan is there, spins up as part of the initial power up but then stops itself. my guess is that the fan itself is close to death and the initial spin up is part of a death rattle. Looking for cheap suggestions on this, if it's even possible to fix. as it's a Core Duo (not a Core 2, so x86 only) which makes it somewhat elderly. don't know if this is a fan issu, since it spins on power up, or if it's a sensor issue, in which case pricy to fix. If y'all think it is a defective fan, does anyone have the part(s) to sell?
