Webdav is only available with old (5~6 years + ?) Hotmail accounts, newer accounts aren't webdav enabledso this isn't an option for many people. MS were going to turn webdav off altogether last June. This has now been postponed, but sooner or later it will be turned off. Whether or not MS's proposed replacement will be a viable alternative remains to be seen.
