I think that you are missing the point the Chris Clifton was making in this thread.
The Webmail extensions are not magical they are logical. What they do (under the covers) is just take a message from Thunderbird and try to send it through the same Hotmail Web interface you would use if you logged on yourself. The Webmail extensions cannot make Hotmail behave any differently from the way it would if you logged on via the Web. These extensions are stuck with the same defaults you get on the Web interface and the message goes out in the the same default way - in this case Rich Text. This is the only thread I can recall in my years of working with these extensions to be requesting the ability to force plain text through a Webmail service while many threads complain of the inability to send embedded images etc. Since most of us have the ability to send plain text through other services (such as our ISP) I (speaking just for myself) am reluctant to encourage the Webmail Author to devote any effort to the delivery of plain text when it would appear to be required by a very tiny number of users of these extensions. The effort to just keep these extensions going in the face of the frequent changes in the Webmail services is already more than we should expect of the provider of these extensions.
