If either Thunderbird has been placed in offline mode for a while (say 30 minutes) or network connectivity has been down for a comparable or greater length of time, the Webmail extension can no longer perform network connectivity until Thunderbird is restarted.
Any accounts (e.g. POP3 or IMAP) not checking email through Webmail work without problems.
