Trying the link, (http://join.msn.com/general/Email), in the server
error message, now leads to a page from which you can download Windows
Live Mail, as well as several other programs. Looks like MS just haven't
updated the message that the server sends when it thinks that an
unauthorised attempt has been made to retrieve mail in a "POP-like"
manner. Of course you don't have to download Windows Live Mail, or
anything else now if you want POP access to Hotmail in any email client.
POP access is available for free to all and is the native mode of
operation for any email client.
