When you enter the password, there is a tick box, "remember this password" or something similar. Tick this box after you enter the password and before clicking OK. Thunderbird should then remember the password and automatically insert it every time you fetch mail. Occasionally, the Yahoo log in may fail, this is down to Yahoo, just re-check the remember password box and continue.
