If your account has been convert over, you can now use the AOL webmail
add-on. If you wish to setup the imap or pop3 below is the info you
will need.
Mail.com to AOL IMAP Setup
Start Thunderbird
Select Tools, then Accounts
Select Add Accounts
Select Email Account as Type of Account, Then Select Next
Enter Your Name for Outgoing Messages
Enter Your Complete Email Address
Then Select Next
Select IMAP
Enter “imap.aol.com” as your Incoming Server
Unselect Global Inbox if wish as separate email box.
Select Next
Enter your complete Email Address
Select Next
Enter an Account Name that wish to refer to this account
(Such as Mail.com New Version)
Select Next
Now go to the server setting for your new account.
Enter 993 for Port number
(You Can use 143)
Under Security settings check SSL
( If using 143, Select “NO”)
Check the server settings, check those wish to use.
Select OK
Now on left of account setting page scroll down to the SMTP outgoing
server
Select the SMTP outgoing server
Select ADD
Enter a Description for your new outgoing server
Enter “smtp.aol.com” for the outgoing server name.
Enter “587” for the port number.
( You Can use 465)
Under Security and Authentication check “Use Name and Password”
Enter your complete Email Address.
Under Use Secure Connection Check “NO”
(If using 465, Select SSL – 587 can also be set to TLS)
Select OK.
Now under Under account setting , Copy and Folders, When sending
messages, Automatically:
Uncheck the “Place a copy in” check box.
(If you don't you will have two copies of everything sent.)
End of Setup
Note: AOL Pop3 service is also currently available (10/17/09)
If using smtp under Pop3 service enable the “Place a copy in” Under
“When sending messages”
Now go online and Check your email. If everything is setup properly
you should be able to check and send as you did before Mail.com
converted.
Pop3 Settings > pop.aol.com
Port 995 SSL
smtp port setting same as imap smtp settings
