A few days ago I was experiencing this timeout problem with Yahoo as well. Logging into Yahoo on the Web and going through a few new Yahoo screens cleared the problem for me.
Please also note that the Webmail Author has provided a new "pre- release" update to the Yahoo mail add-on in the files section of this forum. I have installed this version and Yahoo continues to work well for me.
