Hi frewsax,

I had a similar problem. Although I'm on a Mac and can up grade, I like TB2 for what I need.

This worked for me. I set up a new IMAP account using the below settings. I tried to post this info, but the moderator keeps blocking me. If it works for you too, maybe you'll have better luck getting it out to whole group.

Setting up IMAP on mobile device or email client

You can access your Yahoo! Mail from another email client or your mobile device using IMAP.
Use these settings when configuring IMAP:

   Incoming Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
   Outgoing Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
   Incoming Port: 993 with SSL
Outgoing Port: 465 with SSL or port 587 with SSL/TLS
-It is necessary to enable SSL or TLS for Outgoing SMTP port.
Username: full email address (for example, [email protected])
Password: the password you use to sign in to your Yahoo! Account

Hope this helps.
Baccus

Hi,
As mentioned, the
yahoo-1-5-8b1.xpi
at
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B12SpPN0s2lARVFlZVF6NjVBRVk/edit
does not work for
Thunderbird 2.0.0.22?
Any chance I may find an update here that will work for Thunderbird 2.0.0.22?
Thank you very much.
Please post a note if it isn't going to happen.
Much appreciated.
Thanks again,
Seeya

        Hello, I have Windows 98, Thunderbird 2.0.0.22
        I've been using
        Webmail 1.3.13
        Webmail-Yahoo 1.4.7
        successfully for a couple years.

        Problem:
Windows 98 only can use up to Thunderbird 2 (Not 3 and above)
The latest yahoo1-5-8b1.xpi says it needs TB 3 or above.

        Solution:
is it possible to make an adjustment to the latest
        yahoo1-5-8b1.xpi
so it will work for TB 2?

        OR

would it be possible to adjust the
        Webmail-Yahoo 1.4.7
        that I've been using
so that it will work with the changes in Yahoo mail site?

        OR
        some other solution?

        OR
do I just need to get a newer operating system?
(I hope that's not my only solution...)

Thank you very much for considering my request.
