The OS is WinXP.  Also, I'm using the LessBackupsPlugin and the
TiddlyLockPlugin. I don't know if those plugins might play a role in
the problem or not.

I read the suggestions at the link you provided.  However, the problem
is so random that I don't think it's something I can track down that
way.  The TW's all run the same plugins, they operate perfectly fine
nearly all the time, the only exception is when one of them
"evaporates" during a save.  It seems strange to me when I have
an .html file that contains ~ 800 kb of information, then in the
course of saving changes to that file, I end up with an .html file
that contains 0 bytes.  I don't know what could cause the loss of all
the data in a file.
