Don't you love it when your prayers are answered immediately? I just downloaded the latest release of IE, that is IE8 and now the CTRL++ and CTRL+- shortcuts work as expected. They can also be reached from the menu (View->Zoom) and so it is no longer necessary to View- >Text Size for proper display. Fantastic stuff.
You may consider my initial question answered. Now my next task will be to have the following message displayed upon loading the page: "Optimized for Mozilla Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8. May not display correctly on earlier versions.
