ARGHHHH
I am using version 2.5.x
Tried to install the QuickEditPackage and now i have lost complete
control of my wiki to the extent i can no longer edit anything - BIG
PROBLEM!
Meaning when i select edit, i go into edit mode, I see all the
wonderful functionality, can toggle between quickedit and std wiki
edit
- question is where did the usual buttons like DONE, DELETE, CANCEL
etc Go, they have all vansihed?????
And the obvious worst part is i can go in and do a change but cannot
exit once i have entered into the Edit cycle loop, i am just stuck.
As you see without edit capability i cannot fix the problem...... oh
yes and i have tried the obvious things like:
1. Deleting any & all QUICKEDT tiddler - that does not work.......like
mentioned above no delete button anymore.
2. Deleting the Plugin - no change
3. Recalling a previous SAVED VERSION - only problem is how do i save
it
- tried doing a 'Save changes' and SAVE on the Backstage toolbar - no
effect
- tried using file > save as and overwriting the original wiki
file .....very bad idea not recommended.
NB:
Fortunately i archived the wiki file prior to trying the overwrite
test and the weird things is that when i delete the overwritten file
re-open my wiki it sort of works (don't know if it is temporary - it
is so unpredicatable) exept my SITE TITLE BACKGROUND STRIP{still a
blue colour in my wiki} has changed to approximately 10 times the
original height.....what's that all about ? - is it possible to just
fix this although i cannot be certain and need to really understand
what went wrong in the first place.
4. Tried checking options > advanced options to see if there were a
way to toggle it off - no such luck
5. Checked Plugins to see if there were some functionality i missed -
nothing obvious
6. Tried opening a new Tiddler then using the 'Close Others' button on
the right side menu - interestingly i thought it force them closed -
surprise surpise - no it doesn't ?? don't get it.
7. Re-run through the installation step 4 main points in total - these
are checked and OK
- embed the QuickEditToolbar tiddler into your document's
EditTemplate,
- add a reference to the shortcuts CSS class definitions in your
StyleSheet:
- add to the EditToolbar definition in ToolbarCommands:
- a single checkbox option that can be added to SideBarOptions
- IS THIS WHERE IT HAS CREATED A PROBLEM?? that's all i see a single
box which lets me toggle modes as previously
Clearly at this point i am lost --- what am i doing wrong and how do i
fix it?
