I'm running Opera on Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and saving works correctly
with the TiddlySaver.jar file in the same folder as the TiddlyWiki
HTML file. "About Opera" reveals:

Version information: Version 10.01
Build: 6746
Platform: Mac OS X
System: 10.6.1
Java: Java Runtime Environment installed
Browser identification: Opera/9.80 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X; U; en)
Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.01

Best wishes

Jeremy
