I'm a bit late in getting around to giving this solution a try -- also
suggested by Måns -- but the result was that the Tager tagging button
disappeared from the view toolbar altogether. That was true whether I
created the TagDB before modifying the view template or after.

I also don't understand how I'm supposed to tag the TagDB tiddler with
the tags I want to include in the tagging list if I haven't already
tagged the TagDB with the tags I want to include. [The egg has to come
before the chicken?]

My guess is that "tag" means "create a new tag for every tag you want
to include on the tagging list. My initial thought in compose the last
sentence was, "No way. I've too many tags for that." But maybe not.
I'll check it out.

And now it occurs to me also that if I not only create the TagDB
tiddler before modifying the view template, but go ahead and tag it
with the tags I'm currently using, perhaps that will work. Again, I'll
check it out.

Any additional clues on getting this to work will be appreciated.

Thanks -- and a belated Happy New Year to all.

Sincerely,
