I think that the numbers don't jump out clearly enough from Bimlas' artwork. A good test is to move away from the screen and squint ones eyes so that the artwork goes fuzzy; the digits should still be as legible as possible. Perhaps making the digits much bolder, and a more contrasting colour, would help.
Amusingly, the idea echoes the cover artwork of a book of mine in the 1980s: http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/4087/The-BBC-Micro-Compendium/ It's a poor quality image but you may be able to see that I rearranged the key caps so that the top row spells "BY:J.RUSTON".
