What there needs to be is a built-in tool that will copy the current
TW in its entirety (including recent changes) to the system clipboard.
Then even if your system won't save changes, you can do your own save
to a text editor.

Even if the java-save were to work (it doesn't on my system), there
are times where you might have your TW on a USB stick at a machine
without Java support. Having a back door for saving would be a great
feature. And just in case anyone is wondering, you can't just save the
source of your working TW -- your new tiddlers won't be in the source.
