I believe it would be very useful instead. Ok, importing the whole content of your mailbox would generate huge and unmanageable files, but I think it is seldom needed to store all the mails. I think the most useful option would be to have the ability of selecting a number of mails and importing that in tiddler with the possibility of choosing a tag.
For example I am used to put in tiddler by copy and paste mails related to discussions with my workgroup. This has several drawbacks, like forgotten or non-consistent tagging, forgotten mails, and obviously a faster way would be useful if you have to transfer a large number of mails.
