> Is tiddlywiki.org there to stay and to be a reference documentation?
For TiddlySpace Osmosoft have been assembling documentation in
a number of spaces, collected in the umbrella @docs space:
http://docs.tiddlyspace.com
Much of this documentation also applies to TiddlyWiki, as well as
TiddlySpace. It's not as open as TiddlyWiki.org in that only a few
people are currently able to directly edit the tiddlers. This comes
from TiddlySpaces's membership model, though anyone with a space
may "reply" to documentation tiddlers which we'll see and can then
incorporate. We'll no doubt evolve other ways of managing
contributions as TiddlySpace matures.
> Or is it just slipping out of date?
Over the years there have been many attempts at documenting
TiddlyWiki, and whilst TiddlyWiki.org has a lot of good stuff, but I
think it's fair to say it has been slipping out of date, in spite of
a
lot of effort from FND and others.
Another issue is that we've had difficulty separating "developer"
documentation from "end user" documentation. My personal view is
that the distinction of roles isn't always useful, but I realise
others
think it's essential.
My own personal prejudice is that reference documentation about
code maintained separately from code is always out of date, so
I'd push for authors of plugins to document in the plugin tiddler, or
in an associated "info" tiddler, and maybe we could look again at
generating docs from the core code, though that's something of
a hardy perennial.

Agreed. we're using questions raised on the TiddlyWeb group to
drive the @faq space, and of course there's:
http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/TiddlyWiki_FAQ
Which could be added into the faq space, I'll take a look.

TiddlyWiki is very stable, and a lot of the tutorial and other guides
still apply, apart from those linking to defunct plugins, which might
be a motivation for TiddlyWiki people to seriously consider reviewing
and copying their guides into TiddlySpace.
At some point it would be great to replace the TiddlyWiki.org
MediaWiki with a TiddlySpace based wiki, I don't think we're quite
there, but building up documentation content as tiddlers on
TiddlySpace
gets us a long way towards that goal.
