Basically, all this CSS media query stuff is an alternative to Eric's
suggestion of having two different themes; with the use of media
queries, a single theme can adjust itself to different screensizes.

Setting up a new theme and creating CSS media queries isn't for the
fainthearted - it involves knowledge of HTML and CSS, and some design
skills. If you're not keen to dive in yourself, can you point us at
your current site and I can make some simple suggestions.
