I like the idea, of exposing custom fields to the user. With TWc we saw, 
that the only "field" that could be easily used was the tags field.  To 
work with other custom fields, you had to go the "programmers route" which 
is to cumbersome for most users.

On the other hand, I think accessing parts of the "tiddler.text" should be 
easier than working with custom fields, since they are hidden behind the 
(i)nfo button. The text is always visible. I'm talking about "sections" and 
"slices" but I don't want to hijack this thread, that's why I did create a 
new one about sections and slices [1]
