Yes, the "super size" is nice, but quirky as you noted - cursor can be 
jumpy.

This would be great.  Maybe we can use a field to capture the current step 
mode.  That way there would be persistence between views too.

Hey, now that's neat!  I like the fact that one tab contains three letters, 
and they are listed in three columns.  Keeps the listings from getting too 
long in the vertical direction.  Today's monitors with their wider aspect 
ratios don't often have a lot of vertical space.
