I have tested a signed version of the code and discovered there is a 1.7.0_45 bug <http://www.segal.org/java/SignedAppletTest/> that stops it working. (At some point I'll test earlier Java versions and post results) Would love to get reports from those who have tried the unsigned code using the policy file settings I suggested above added to the system policy file and/or some other location that works for you. I can guarantee the applet will fail WITHOUT the grant permissions being loaded as it is unsigned. Cheers, Paul.
