Yes thanks, I figured your response was intended for me. I have tried your suggested method for creating new journal tiddlers and it works as expected. However, the benefit of Stephan's newtiddler widget is that it can pre-populate tags and the tiddler title. This allows the title to automatically include the date and time for journal entries. I have not yet been able to figure out how to run this from a top menu button. In any case, thanks for your helpful suggestion.
