At the moment I doubt it. I also think, before implementing something, one needs to decide Whether or not footnotes are a good means for... For what!? I can see use cases where one wants to add some more information to a sentence but does not want to disturb the normal flow of the sentence. I doubt that his is good, but that's just my opinion.
