Thanks so much for the reply - "You should be able to open a new, empty TW5 and then drag-and-drop an existing TWC file, which will copy the tiddlers into the new file" - yes, and after about 5 min of nothing and FF 27 completely locking up I force quit it. The second time, with FF16 (last one that works with tiddlysnip), another 5 min with no apparent action, my stuff appeared in the previous original skin. However have been unable to save and have it open as an html file.
To backtrack just a bit to try to provide useful info about my results so far: mid 2011 MB pro, OSX 10.8.5 Existing TWC 2.8.1 Using FF21 (the last one that does not kill TS for my FF16): - TW5 download button does not work - go to http://tiddlywiki.com/empty.html, save empty.html file - it opens as a text file no matter what - online converter does not work - no activity - rt click on url http://tiddlywiki.com/empty.html, save, open saved empty file, drop in TWC, FF paralyzed for 5 min. - - comes up with content in new skin - - won't local save, rt click - - - won't follow links in save as dialogue, won't move up/down folder structure to save in particular location - - - save as foo.html.part - - - some new skin, old standard skin gone. - - - have not explored the saved file much - don't know how much of the previous file is there or correct. Safari: - online upgrade doesn't work - rt click on url http://tiddlywiki.com/empty.html, save, open saved empty, drop in TWC - - safara paralyzed 5 min - - comes up with content in new skin - - won't local save, rt click, save as 'unknown' - - - won't follow links in save as dialogue, won't move up/down folder structure to save in particular location - - - saved as foo.html - - - opens in new skin, old standard skin gone. - - - have not explored the saved file much - don't know how much of the previous file is there or correct. Hope this helps - As I'm teaching full time and a half, not much time for beta testing, but will forward any info I have. Feature request: TW5 incorporate Tiddlysnip; the single most useful feature about tiddlywikis I have found over the last 6 years.
