Hi Jeremy With 'standard' tab added to the 'advanced' search tabs, an option box could be provided in the 'Theme Tweaks' tab of settings to toggle the display between: -- 'standard' search with ellipses below the site title and -- 'advanced' search tabs as a tab in the sidemenu
For that matter, possibly all of the tabs in the 'sidemenu' and 'more sidemenu' could be provided with toggle checkboxes. Rarely used tabs could then be toggled off to reduce clutter in the UI (for example, how often does one use the 'Tools' tab -- perhaps, also provide the 'Tools' tab in the 'Appearance' tab of settings.) Another useful setting: date display format. To save space on this tab, the help descriptions could be changed to mouse hover hints (they might look more chic in tabular form.) regards On Friday, May 16, 2014 12:11:45 AM UTC+2, Jeremy Ruston wrote: > > > It wouldn't be easy to pull out the search functionality without the > advanced search ellipsis.
