No luck either. I can open the Control Panel using your URL trick, but the settings change isn't persisted (I used Ctrl+S to overwrite the wiki html). I use Firefox with TiddlyFox. Maybe the problem here is, that when I first encountered this issue I reopend the wiki in Chromium, where I was able to remove the brackets from the titles, but then when I re-opened in Firefox again, the changes seem to have disappeared and I still had the square brackets (sorry, should probably have mentioned this before).
