My two cents' worth: 1. Orange? I find it amazing to hear everyone call the default tag pill background color as orange. I have never thought of that color as orange, but as a dark gold. So no, I guess we should not assume we are all perceiving the color in the same way.
2. I would agree there is not enough contrast between the background and text color in the prerelease, where the text is black. Something like #eebb33 would be similar enough yet be slightly lighter and give more contrast, making it easier to read.
