Video is surely not the solution for everything and especially loooooong videos are not really helpful. So, yes... actual walkthroughs with *live* examples.. are quite good, I'd try to keep the image noise low, unless the walkthrough is all about images. What would be really cool if there was a widget that allowed to move a fictional mouse cursor to the desired target on the page by the click of a button, so as to say "click here now".
