It depends on how you added images to the titles. I have no idea how you would add images to tiddler titles, would you mind sharing how you did it?
As far as having images on tabs goes, use the caption field. If you give a tiddler a field called caption than whatever is in that field is displayed for things like tabs and a table of contents. So if you have a tiddler with the title 'Some Boring Title' and give it a caption field that contains 'Some More Interesting Title', when you use that tiddler for a tab 'Some More Interesting Title' will be displayed on the tab instead of the tiddlers title. The content of the caption field is also wikified, so if you have an image tiddler called 'German Flag' and in the caption field of the tiddler Auf Deutsch you put '[img [German Flag]] Auf Deutsch' than the image of the german flag next to the words Auf Deutsch should appear on any tabs for that tiddler.
