From Newbie to Newbie:

I found it rewarding to use TiddlyMap together with tidgraph and recently with vis.js Timeline. That gives me a MS-Project-like funtionality, but instead of Bill Gates and his Cloud I get Jeremy Ruston and his motly crew. A choice like between Leprosis and a Havanna cigar :)

I do the data input with tiddlyclip - beats Onenote.

I have implemented the CognyWiki concept (thats from TWC) on my own, and I have improved it for my own needs with custom-made cognitve processes.

The advantage of TW5 over TWC is: TW5 is not so mature and many things are still under development - that offers an ideal opportunity for a newbie like me to witness (in this newsgroup) the gurus when they do the heavy lifting, and learn from them. They even respond to questions from newbies like us.

Hi Barter,

... and welcome!

Classic plugins don't work with TW5 and there are no exceptions.

A lot of TW people are looking for a replacement for Personal Brain and similar. I came to TW after using Brain, Vue, Inspiration and various others. I've stuck with TW after I understood a bit about the technology underpinning it and coming into contact with the community of user which has grown up around the tool.

TiddlyMap is the closest to the brain, and in my opinion many many times superior. One reason it exists in a rapidly expanding ecosystem of compatible code. If you wanted a timeline in your concept map, you can do this quite simply, KiXam's timeline [1] uses the same library as Felix's TiddlyMap

Hi, here is an answer from a newbie. I can't answer all your
questions, but I'm sure there are plenty of others here who can
help out. But for your Q4 about PersonalBrain, do have a look at
    TiddlyMap Plugin by Felix Küppers
    <http://tiddlywiki.com/#TiddlyMap%20Plugin%20by%20Felix%20K%C3%BCppers>.
I haven't implemented it yet myself, but I am intending to. An
earlier version of the personal knowledgebase wiki I'm now
building in TiddlyWiki used to be in PersonalBrain format.

        Hello!

I'm a newbie in tiddlywiki so I have some questions.

        1) Can I get AdvancedSearch history in any way? Maybe some
plugin to highlight latest N search queries and M most used ones.

        2) Can I get arbitrary field showed as AdvancedSearch result
instead of titles? Maybe with a plugin like this one
        (http://www.tiddlytools.com/#SearchOptionsPlugin)

        3) Don't classic plugins work with TW5 at all? Some exceptions
        maybe?

        4) Are there any plans to add features for notes connections
and graphical implementation of that like in PersonalBrain?
        Maybe in future?

        5) Earlier I've found a dido project quite interesting
        (http://projects.csail.mit.edu/exhibit/Dido/Download/dido-full.html).
Is there anything similar to that?

        6) Is there an ability to show some fields of tiddlers in view
        mode? I.e. if field[MyType]='Thought', then I need
feild[source] of that tiddler to be shown.
