Just asking this to clarify your post (for everyone):

So, are you saying that you're using a local TW and you want to save it, 
again to local.
When you click the red save-wiki button a browser download window opens 
that asks you to save it with another file name... but you click cancel to 
this.

To me it doesn't sound surprising that it is not saved, since you really 
cancel the saving. 

But if I understand you right, you mean that previously there was no such 
download window and the file just saved by overwriting the previous copy of 
it. And you're using the TiddlyFox FF addon, right?

I have no great answer to your question but I hear browser safety 
restrictions are tightening and this might be a reason. Again, assuming I 
understand your question right.
