Thanks for the expanded overview. Its helpful in conceptualising what is 
going on.

FYI in my own use I'd not think to use desktop directly as a source. I more 
think about online/cloud.

I do think different usage issues are in play and that kind fogs the issue 
slightly in being clear enough in my own thoughts about needs.
