Hi Kelli, Welcome! Looking at your images it seems to me that you have created your own tiddlers in the backstage. Tiddlydesktop is itself a tiddlywiki. You are supposed to open your own tiddlywiki file or folder, to start working with your own material (creating tiddlers).
