There's discourse hosting available with 5gb and 100k views at $10/month.

If there isn't $10/month interest, maybe there's not enough interest.

It really doesn't seem necessary to me to bring over all the archives. 
Maybe the last 3 years.
A lot of material before that will be irrelevant.

Doing the other things, connecting to GH, seems overly ambitious.
