The proposal under discussion here uses the parameterisation mechanism
not just to distinguish between tw2 and tw5 wikitext, but between the
local wikitext dialects that people evolve with the revised macro
mechanism that is under consideration.

Neither of those things are the motivation for suggesting a common
content type across dialects for wiki text tiddlers
