I feel based on the short notice of schedule (my fault) and the time of the event that our pre-registration meeting went rather well all things considered. We formulated a plan to basically eat our own dog food here by creating a Tiddlywiki and adding documentation and notes from both the xAPI cohort program and TW5 user and developer documentation and building out from that. All seemed to agree ( including Mr. Wiggins from ADL ) that TW5 and xAPI would be a very useful merger of technology to provide needed functionality in making this a tool that can communicate with other educational systems. How we best leverage that functionality I think will be determined by the capabilities of the xAPI plugin we hope to create and our skills using xAPI technology as we go through the program.
My next step in this now are to build that TW and also showcase within it the excellent work so many of you have done here towards educational efforts so that our xAPI group knows of those capabilities. I know of many but there could be many more I need to add to that showcase so, I am reaching out to the community here for suggestions. I also feel much more comfortable pointing to these knowing I have the authors full approval to do so because regardless of license, a lot of work goes into those and I want to respect that effort. Regardless if the plugin is fully functional in our TW or just a link to make others aware of its availability, I will be sure to include author's name and official page in the documentation. I would like to be sure that the plugins suggested follow best practices and are inline with the documentation provided which might exclude some really good works I can think of (Noteworthy comes to mind) because they are just not available as a plugin for some reason and require building from them as a base instead. Which for this project I feel is not a good approach regardless of how much I may like the functionality offered. I have spoken with Felix and I know I have his support to include TiddlyGraph. Rich seems on board with his efforts on incorporating large video lists of educational resources such as Khan Academy and Ted Talks although it is more of a method than a plugin in right now it is perfectly aligned with the effort here. The Video URI work recently done by Tobias and team here as well as Marios excellent educational citation and note taking tools really need to be in there if they agree. Others? Please add!
