I just checked your example again and I saw your explanation. Seems a way too 
manual. IMO it should work with drag and drop, at least the compression part. 
Currently is not possible to gain access to the path of a file from javascript, 
but it's possible to access the content. Maybe is enough if you create a button 
to compress the current tiddler text field. This way you will save lot of copy 
pasting. This last thing is very easy to accomplish, let me know if you need 
help with that.
