Though still early I wanted to comment on advantages of what PMario is
working on (still in principle, but shaping well) that show the *importance*
of this innovation ...

1 - Provides a general method to extend WikiText to insert any HTML tag &
style it. ++++

2 - Gets around some of the strictures of standard WikiText using. For
instance all existing WikiText constructs that involve Nesting (the list &
table tags particularly) though excellently designed have limits that
PMario's "WikiText Extension" to can (in principle) handle to provide more
functionality. +++

3 - Is a godsend where you to need switch off pragma because of use case.
Why? Example: probably The worst pragma to switch-off is the Block Parse
Rule for "list" because it disables ALL forms of list construct (*#:;).
Example use case: Wiki concerned with posting to social networks where "#"
is used all the time you need to switch of processing of "#". The "WikiText
Extension" re-enables list constructs (not as elegantly as the Standard
WikiText but a lot more useable than raw HTML). +++

That is three reasons already.
More?
