I have some TIFF files with DPI=150 and =200, compressed with FAX G4,

resolution is reduced accordingly, so information is lost.

I'm not able to reproduce this.

How are you determining that the resulting PDF only has 96 dpi?
I used IrfanView (via Wine on Ubuntu) to check the result.

How are you determining that your original TIFFs are 150 dpi or 200 dpi?
I too used IrfanView to check the original.

I've constructed a G4 TIFF image with 200x200 dpi:
I can reproduce your results when using your 3 commands.

So the bug is in IrfanView. If always loads PDF with 96 DPI, regardless of the
real DPI.

Thanks for your effort.
