Another observation: it seems like I can copy&paste from the Windows to the 
Linux server, but I can not from Linux client to the same Linux server. And I 
used RealVNC (old 4.1.3) as well Tigervnc (1.3.0) client on Windows and both 
worked fine, which tells me that the problem is on the client side on Linux.

Is the client side X libraries too new for tigervnc?
