I am using the Fedora binaries, via yum and the Fedora repos.  What the heck 
could be against FESCo policy that would cause them to drop clipboard support?

Actually I am not having any problems specific to xterm.  Though the problem 
still appears when I attempt to paste into konsole on the server.

The problem appears to be that an empty string is passed to the server's 
clipboard from the client.
