As DRC said, a feature request in the tracker is the best approach. Development time is limited so it really has to be in there for us not to forget it. :) As for the toolbar, it got lost when we merged the viewers. It wasn't really any major thought behind it. Rather, it was a consequence of the new viewer being more based on the old Unix one, rather than the old Windows one. Personally, I think the toolbar should be brought back. And the only obstacle towards that (AFAIK) is developer time.
