So far so good. I imported the planet and ran a few updates. The first
osm2pgsql-gen run took about 20 minutes after a 4 hour import. The first
osm2pgsql-gen update about 5 minutes to catch up the 5 hours or so of changes
with nearly 500,000 tiles affected. After that the osm2pgsql-gen for minutely
updates runs through in basically no time.
Looking at a few examples it seems it is doing the right thing. I'leave this
running for a while to see whether there are any problems, but it looks very
promising.
Question now: From my look at the code I don't see anything that couldn't be
done in Lua/SQL alone. Do we actually need the C++ part or can we just use
`run_sql()`?
