I love the 68k stuff (shipped a lot of 68332 based products), but I 
wouldn't recommend it for new designs.

I've used ARM (the NXP microcontrollers) and H8 recently--liked 'em 
both.  Some of the new Cortex-M3 parts from Luminary and ST are 
catching my eye, too.
