I have the same project on my list. In a general sense my idea is to log as much as possible at the same time. Room temp, power, and any logs from the discipline oscillators. For the first cut a counter for each oscillator with a common time base using a IEEE-488 interface bus, also known as the General Purpose Interface Bus GPIB for logging. My plan B is to create PIC controlled sensors to do the counting and use a serial interface. Either method would require some mods to get the accuracy needed. Changing the time base interval, phase interpolation, etc. Fixed errors that effect measurement of the obsolete value would be less important vs random errors that effect comparisons between each device. This problem is much like the discipline oscillator controller it's self comparing the GPS PPS to the oscillator output we just need three or more inputs for the oscillators and the gate would be something other than GPS PPS with some random jitter to average out the gate error. The output would be data on a PC for analysis vs a feedback ECC voltage. My plan is a result of reading this list and my limited understanding of what I read. Stanley

Another group I subscribe to (Geiger Counter Enthusiasts) has a sub group were they just have the best replies to the FAQ's Regards, Robert GRIP. --- On Wed, 21/5/08, Pete <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Pete <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [time-nuts] Comparing Reference Accuracy To: "Richard W. It would help to know if you're interested in comparing several 10MHz sources for their frequency/phase noise performance, or if you wish to examine longer term timing behavior in the hours to days+ range. Perhaps you mean to cover both areas?
